>>Now, is there any question as to why I'm converting over to Canon?
> Yes, why?
Rats. I was hoping to preserve this news for a bit...
Primary reasons:
1. Full-frame 35mm sensor size. I will not buy another crop-sensor DSLR.
2. Image Quality. Some issues, but overall a good thing.
3. Larger support base - able to rent/borrow what I need on occasion.
This really is an issue for me and is something that I'm actually
fighting right now.
I'm not in a hurry and will choose carefully. At this point, I see
little value in making the jump until new models come out. The 7D is a
REALLY good camera and if the 5Dmk3 is as good as the 7D, then it will
be an awesome camera to get. Otherwise, I'll look for a secondhand
1DsMk3.
If Olympus came out with a sensor closer to the larger APS or even
35mm cameras I'd probably stay in the fold, but it is time for me to
roll on. I'm all for the underdog and everything, but at what point is
it no longer a wise business decision.
And has been proven several times before, if I have something on
Zone-10 which is Canon related, traffic increases almost 10-fold. If
I'm trying to be heard by more people I need to be relevant to those
people. The exception is Leica. If you write ANYTHING about Leica, I
think every Leica owner in the world will visit the site. But I'd be
competing with Ken Rockwell.
Yes, Virginia, it really is the end of the world.
