So you took the same trip as I! Yes, the G2 lenses were fantastic, perhaps a
little better than the Xpan lenses. Like most Zeiss lenses, they had more
contrast than most, and the snappy saturated results were a delight. Still,
Fuji jas had the capability to build good lenses for many years, and that
remains today. The Xpan was a more rewarding camera. What I would like to
see is a digital Xpan body that would take my lenses. Imagine what that
would cost!

Same here, owned G2. Some of the sharpest images, but auto-focus was
sometimes problematic.
The Xpan and lenses I felt were comparable to the G2. With the wide format,
to me the Xpan was more desirable than the G2, and it has manual focus.
