The focus screen on the 510 might be ever so slightly off. This is the
case with my E-1. When focusing the 50/1.4, at about 3 meters
distance, the plane of focus is about 25 millimeters off, I think.
This is where live-view is so nice.

Hmm,
I don' think the stock screen on the OM 5DII allows precise focusing by
eye with any more precision than F4
and that is with a larger /brighter VF than E-things. I think there is
a Katzeye screen for the 510 that might do better, but agree magnified
live view is very precise. Canyon doesn't advertise but there is some
significant slop in the manufacturing tolerances and they sell shims
to fine tune the correct placement of the screens, if necessary.
