and then ends
up with the same exposure as if they would have just stuck in incident meter
in the air to begin with.
How right you are. When I was shooting a lot of MF film, I didn't have the
luxury of having sophisticated in-camera metering systems, since Hasselblad
never did that very well. I suppose you could say that they have with the
digital ones now, but then that's really saying that Fuji got it. But I
digress.
I have a Minolta incident meter That never sees use now. I would just stand
behind the camera, hold the meter over my head with the sphere pointing to
the back, and punch the button. Never failed. Never. But then I also used a
Quantum strobe on Auto and got great results, too, much easier than with the
new TTL flashes.
OK, I know what you are saying, he's just luck and just shot film with great
latitude and hit the jackpot like anyone could. OK.
