The time delay could be due to the activation of IS, I had big problem to
capture the bird eating moment with E-PL1 and manual focus lens, after
disabled the IS, it was much better.
You can check the system time delay (including yourself) by shooting a
running timer clock. I believe the E-3 should be less than 100ms, nothing to
worry about.
