But the spelling checker wouldn't have caught it. It was spelled
correctly, just the wrong word. This is all too often a trap for native
English speakers as well. I think newspapers have given up on proof
readers in favor of spell checkers. It's fairly common now to see a
correctly spelled but still incorrect word used in the newspaper.
