I emailed Canon and they have agreed to do a free, preemptive fix on the
mirror. They will email me a form to be sent with the camera and a UPS
label to take care of the shipping. Service requires 10-15 business
days from time of arrival so I'll be without the camera for some time.
i need the camera next weekend so I won't send it off until 6/22. That
means no 5D for July 4 but I don't think we're doing anything special
then. Looks like I'll have to get reacquainted with some other cameras.
