Fernando, about 15 years ago I provided equipment and training to a
researcher who was studying that. At the time I had far more interest in the
design of the outer ear and how it determined direction of sounds so I never
followed up.
At the time, the common wisdom for speaker and audio tuning is to not
customize the EQ to correct for age-induced hearing loss. I have always
followed that advice and it has seemed to serve me well when tuning sound
systems. As my hearing changes I find that it's vital for me to use my
reference CDs to make sure I don't go off the deep end on adjustments or a
mix.
But that new research does look interesting.
