Not if you're buying academic versions! :-)
But think on it - once upon a time you'd spend that kind of money
without a whimper on a new lens to improve your pix plus a serious
premium for pro-grade film and processing. And you had expensive
lenses you hardly used. Now we just have to shift our thinking to
fewer lenses and greater expense on the post-production end. Yes, it's
still a rip off but it's also a just shift in emphasis.
