Thanks for the update, Tim. I wonder if a low profile internal release
mechanism ala Mirex with OM could be fabricated. Sounds like not much
room even for that, but just might be possible. One would have to
detach the lens and then reach in to uncouple the adapter. One
external bayonet mechanism with the stop down pin would still be
required to release the lens. (unless one owns some voice activated
nanobots) I wonder if a determined, innovative engineer could pull it
off.
IS, FF digital back for Zuikos and nice Zeiss glass--I have better
stop thinking about it to avoid further drooling.

Out of interest I went and tried a 50mm OM on an Alpha in a local
Fry's. You
can actually fit it in between the flange of the alpha lens and still
focus it.
There are issues with the lens lock and the focus mechanism , but it
seems both
of those can be pushed into body as they seem to be spring loaded.
But I
doubt it is possible to make a rotating flange locking mechanism
because of
interference.
