Well, I thought about that.
Here are the reasons I say no to light scribe:
It doesn't solve the need to print photos on paper at home.
It cannot print onto CDs/DVDs in color. That gets old in a hurry.
I can get the "light scribe look" on my CDs/DVDs if I want that look by 
using a color printer to print directly on the disc. Just need a disc 
that doesn't have the white background and then simply fade or 
desaturate the label image before printing.
