Sorry to hear about it Bill.
The feeling is worse than the economic loss, those pieces of equipment
were certainly carefully chosen by you yourself.
I'm paranoid (in a lay sense) about my gear too, this is not a big
city but unemployment is always around but below 10%.
Anyway, I'm quoting this because I disagree that unemployment explains theft.
My car in a Fiat 'Uno', bought new in 1995. Sometimes I give it a
wash. I do leave lots of gear inside, quite often, including two
Manfrotto.
But I put it all into the trunk before leaving the garage. Very rarely
do I open the trunk in the city: when I do, it depends much on which
zone I'm around ....
Wish you a prompt recovering Bill, if not of the gear, of the shocking event.
