I just whipped together a few comparison shots of my two circular polarizing
filters. Lacking anything very specific to test, I used my laptop's LCD
display (which is totally polarized) and the Minolta A1. Too tired and late
to do anything very taxing.

too special, or accurate. For instance, to the naked eye, at maximum
darkness the Tiffen blocks almost all, but a nice deep blue/purple cast. The
Tamron takes it down to near total blackness. I'm assuming then, that the
Tamron has greater UV attenuation than the Tiffen.
