Many thanks to Chuck for figuring out - making sense of the -  convoluted 
way Olympus have set up the E-3 menu for enabling users to chose the 
detail of image they want.

The method is nothing less than stupid, with various parts of the process 
spread over about 4 (maybe 5) parts of the menu, including two quite 
disparate parts. Absolutely not intuitive.

I had begun to think something was seriously wrong with my camera, when 
on my own I could not find what I needed.
