I'll ask you another question. How big can you go on a 1080p HD TV for $1000 +/- 300. Here's a 50" Panasonic plasma TV for $1199. <http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9236294&type=product&id=1218064394819> and you can run it up to 54" for another $300 <http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9280164&type=product&id=1218073533060> I think that would do a better job than any projector. Is there a requirement that dictates a projector?
