My Garmin 350 had a problem with the on/off switch a month before the
warranty expired. They sent a refurb'd unit with the latest map updates
which would have cost $60 otherwise. But I haven't noticed any
difference. Things I knew were already 5 or 6 years out of date on the
old one were still 5 or 6 years out of date on the new one.
