I took these two at very nearly high noon sun time today. <http://www.interisland.net/watershed/mike/WalkDogs/May09/fox8812.jpg> 1/125sec -2.0ev <http://www.interisland.net/watershed/mike/WalkDogs/May09/fox8781.jpg> 1/60sec -1.5ev High thin overcast and high angle sun made for some pretty even light. Made for digital. Tam 300mm 2.8. Added the 1.4xa for the second one. ISO100 aperture unknown I'm finding I have to tweak the ev all over the place when using these old manual focus lenses. Change the aperture, change the ev. Different background, different ev. Nothing linear about it. Just watch for blown highlights after the fact. Missed a lot of shots that way. Also kinda hard to focus on a moving target, stop down and shoot.A lot of oof shots went in the recycle. I also had my brand new 70~300 crap out on me. I could really use an AF lens for these subjects. The AF has gone bonkers. It just racks in and out and jumps around. Even when set to MF so the lens is totally useless. Newest firmware and it worked for about a week. I got it from Henry's which is a pretty good outfit . Just hope I can replace it and not have to send it to Olympus. We're leaving for OR in 4 weeks.
