A very precise description. I believe I have damaged the nerves in my
shutter finger, right index, because when that hand gets cold, the
index finger hurts more than the rest of the hand. My theory is that
the finger spends so much time lying across the top of the camera,
exposed to the wind, which is almost always a factor at Pemaquid
Point. And yes, I have gloves, but when I'm actually shooting I use a
very thin pair that tend to block the worst effects of the weather,
but don't really protect the hands all that much. They do keep the
fingers from sticking to metal, though.
Ah, what we sacrifice for our art. <g>
