I eventually refused to go to a particular shopping centre with my
wife - ever again. It wasn't so much the waiting but the trying on of
stuff that looked great and then dithering/not buying despite my
desperate urging. And the trying on of utterly inappropriate stuff
and the expectation that I'd approve (as if!)
Now her girlfriends go shopping with her and most of what she ends up
with suits their taste (lousy).
The last time I went she needed a winter coat. She tried on a Llama
wool winter coat, great price and it suited her perfectly. I said
YES, so did the assistant but she went in the routine again. I told
her that I'd had enough and that if she didn't buy it, she could
catch the train home - and I walked out of the shop. So she did and
last winter, she wore it constantly and loves it.
But, somehow, it's still all my fault.
