I agree with Moose. (send in one of the four horses now)
However, I suspect that this is a classic case of nice film lens not so good
for digital--especially when downsized and sharpened where the penumbra
rolls back onto itself forming hard balloons. I am experiencing exactly the
same thing with my 100/f2.8 lens on the E-1. However, if you notice, these
hard-edged bokeh balloons are happening with full-length portraits, not
necessarily with the head-shots. My 100/f2.8 lens is exceptional--even on
the E-1 at head-shots, but for the full-length shots I prefer the look of
the 50/f3.5 macro lens.
