I'm far from Boston, but E-6 can be developed here at two levels of quality:
1. standard quality, which I find fairly good.
2. high quality & rather expensive, at a special Lab by Carlos Porro in
Montevideo. He does any kind of B&W too. He does not mount the E6
transparencies, even if you ask him for.
I feel curious about something: just went to B & H, and they do stock
many types and sizes of Velvia. How is it possible that a pro Fuji film
is sold but difficult to have it developed there in the USA ??.
I was about to buy a pack of 135mm Velvia 100 in December - no doubt I
will be able to have it developed and mounted in standard quality here
in town.
I recently read John had to use Sensia 100 for some work - I didn't
search all B & H film stock, but wouldn't be surprised to find Asta,
Provia and Velvia. Why could he prefer Sensia ? - John, why did you
prefer Sensia ?? :)
Fernando.
