And I will repeat. The optical viewfinder on the Canyon A series is an
awful thing. It's a small tunnel that shows a tiny looking piece of the
world that is in roughly the same direction as, and generally at least
partially overlaps with, the image captured by the sensor.
Don't get me wrong, I own one and use it and I hate the viewfinder.
The F30 LCD is a better alternative. Would that Canyon could, or would
choose to, match it.

Most, not all. SD870 IS doesn't, for a current example.
And the superzooms use EVFs. The EVF alternatives on the superzooms are
crummy in many ways, but at least they show the same subject that the
camera will take a picture of.
