My CD with the trial version of Studio also came with the full (and
free) version of Viewer. Did yours?
For everything for which I would use Studio, Viewer fills my needs.
There are some useful features in Studio, like hardwiring the camera
direct to a computer for certain kinds of studio work, but I don't
have a need for that, personally, so I just live happily with Viewer.
I like Viewer's RAW processing better than any other program's, though
this is a matter of taste.
When I got the 330, I installed Studio for the trial month and for my
purposes it was identical to Viewer in functionality and look and
feel. I just deleted it and went back to Viewer.
If Olympus is no longer giving away Viewer, then that would confirm to
me that it is really "Studio Lite" and that they are giving away
Master but trying hard now to sell Studio. My friend, who just bought
a 500, got Master but not Viewer, apparently, so I fear this might be
the trend. The next thing I expect to learn is that Olympus will
uncouple support of future RAW versions from Viewer to force us to
pony up for a "new and improved" Studio (following the example of
Adobe). :(
