As I understand jpeg, each time a file is saved, some information is
discarded. As I edit an image, I may choose to save from time to time, so I
convert. If I do something today, close the file, and open later to do more,
I convert.
I stand by my advice to convert, to retain the maximum information. It's
always better to have more than less.
