I do the refill routine on my Canon S9000 using MIS Inks. I haven't
bought a $13 replacement tank in over 18 months. It takes me an
average of five minutes per tank to refill and I usually do three at
a time. My ink cost per tank is about $1 and a tiny blob of
hot-glue.
As my kids now do online schooling, they are constantly printing
stuff out. And with two businesses going, we print, maybe, 200 pages
a week. I'm running about $0.80 per week in total ink cost.
Granted, the head needs replacing and I could stand to get some new
tanks, but I'll milk it as long as I can. Based on my experience
with the S9000 and previous experience with HP and Epson inkjets,
it'll be tough for me to buy anything but Canon when I need to buy a
new one.
