I met an engineer that worked for Piper and refused to go
anywhere near an airplane.

What grouses me about what happened last night is that without a
manual to guide me, I caused the Write Protect to happen and
without a manual I can't figure out how to reverse it.

To be fair, this is the first such occurance in almost two years
of operation.  I'm just glad it didn't happen during a wedding.
