The first shot in the series may be of interest to many. Night shot at
1/4 second and ISO 640. Load the full size image to check the noise in
the shadows. I didn't load all of the images but didn't spot any
thumbnail that looked like it might have been taken at higher ISO. Most
appear to have been take at ISO 100-200

It's not often we post a gallery without a review, but the Olympus E-400
is in the unique position of not being available in North America (the
location of the largest proportion of our readers). Because of this we
have chosen not to review it but have instead had an opportunity to use
the camera in Japan and have prepared a 46 image gallery for those of
you in Europe and Asia who may be interested in this model.
Phil: I found the E-400 to be a very nice, capable DSLR in use. It
focuses quickly and has a short viewfinder blackout which combine to
give a responsive feel. The body is light and well designed and despite
the lack of a full hand grip is still comfortable to use. Image quality
was a mixed bag, clean if lacking that crisp bite we look for at lower
sensitivities, noisier at higher sensitivities. Overall the E-400 was a
perfect 'carry around' vacation-type camera and we hope it (or something
similarly) will one day be available in North America.
