I'm not so sure it was just a license. I suspect it was the whole lens
assembly that was purchased from Canyon. It's the only thing that makes
sense. Tooling up to make a complex electro/optical/mechanical device
for a limited run of one model would be economic foolishness. On the
other hand, selling additional production from a line already running
would have distinct economic advantage for C from a marginal cost
standpoint.
