I still occasionally use my nikon F's, and the interchangable finders are a
secondary reason that I keep them. Aside from the bulk and removable back,
they are almost as iconic as the OM's. I think the F2 was the height of the
line, and succeeding cameras were each a slight decline.

I got into the line for the lenses, which I prefer to the Nikkors, although
each are good in their own right. After I got there, the whole compact part
was a real blessing. Compare a Nikkor 200/4 with the Zuiko.

I would prefer one as well, but like you, I'm realistic.
As I have expressed before, I think the last cameras designed for the pro
were the 35 rangefinders, and most MF cameras. Digitals all seem designed by
electronics engineers that don't take photos.
