Actually, there is a workaround in PWP. First of all, you have
an incredibly powerful mask feature set. It works well.
Secondly, each time you do a "process" it creates a new copy of
the file. Just merge those copies (ie layers) back together
again.
I am in total agreement that the lack of a proper layers engine
is a handicap, though.
For some reason I get the best "image color" with PWP than with
other editors. The skintones are absolutely the best.
Photoshop Elements has the Healing Brush, which is a huge
time-saver for de-zitting, but for everything else, PWP just
blows it away.
