With a company van I've resorted to using the parking brake to somewhat deal
with that problem. The biggest factor in winter driving is the loose nut
behind the wheel. I learned to drive in the winter in the lake effect snow
belt east of lake Ontario. The standard forecast is 3"-6" in persistant
squall area.
