Yes the 80-200 tamron is fantastic. I did some tests with it against the
tamron 90mm and found that at f8 and f11 after scanning with my minolta
scan elite 5400 I could see no difference except the 80-200 had more
contrast. However after before f8 and after f11 the 90mm degraded far
faster than the 80-200. The 80-200 is just so consistent over its
operating range. Its one of the few lenses where I don't feel I have to
run it at f8 or f11 to get the sharpness I want.
