That would tell you the absolute limit but it's not that simple. If you
shone a light through it the image formed by the light beam would start
to vignette and eventually fall off to nothing. Obviously, you get
nothing beyond that point. However, the point of light extinction is
likely well past the usable image circle where "usable" implies a
certain standard or resolution and freedom from abberations such as
chroma, coma, etc.
