"Norwegian Fjord salmon" are raised in farms (in Norwegian fjords,
probably near to some chemical plant...) and fed ground up other fish,
or actually the creatures they get along with the fish they really want
when vaccuuming the North Atlantic. There have been complaints from
Norway that pollutants and diseased water from Sweden has caused havoc
with their salmon farms.
A long time ago in Sweden, salmon was so plentiful that sometimes
labourers were guaranteed not to be given salmon to eat too often, as it
was considered more or less junk food. I wonder what they would have
though of the frozen stuff you get nowadays.
