Not an easy generalization to make. It all depends on the length of
the baseline of the rangefinder as well as the magnification. The M3
was one of the best and had no problem with 135. The many other
rangefinder cameras on the market had baselines barely long enough to
accurately focus the lens that was permanently mounted on the camera.
