I am just a beginner futzing around on the beginning slope of the
learning curve.
Because Capture only saves to one lossless format, tiff, and it hangs
on a handoff to PS, and PS is so slow to open tiff, I have been using
batch processing a lot. I do a batch convert in Capture which allows
turning off the camera image tweaks and saves tiff images in a folder.
I just walk away while it does its thing.
In Photoshop I recorded my typical action to open an unprocessed tiff,
modest sharpen based on format, and save as PSD. Then I do batch
process for the entire tiff folder and walk away.
Then I go back and look at the individual images and tweak them saving
the final images to a new folder. These are the ones I work from to
resize for a slide show, print, final sharpening for format, etc.
Hope that helps someone. And I am open to suggestions from people are
better at this than I am.
