Heh...I dunno, my Beetle doesn't spin up to high revs, but the turbo
really gives it some go. I put my foot down on the highway and I can
hear the turbo spin up as the car digs in and just goes. The gas is
smelly, but I only have to fill up about every 600 miles. The handling
is amazing, too. With the wheels essentially being on the four corners
of the vehicle it's got a very stable, predictable way of taking in the
road. I feel like my Beetle is the most enjoyable car to drive that
I've ever owned and I've owned about 30 cars in my life. One of 'em was
even on a magazine cover. ;-)
