What distance? If you are so far that you cannot fill the finder with a
person from the waist or knees to top of head, then you'll need to get at
least 400. if you plan to practive, find a wal-mart near you, and pick up
a 4pck of fuji superia 800, set camera meter for 640, and shoot away.
whenver i shot indoor auditorium (sister in play and such), i use 200/4 on
tripod wide open or 5.6, T32 in manual (full dump), and around 1/15 to get
a decent mix of ambient and flash. since this is practice, get the cheap
film and fire away. for serious use (graduations and such) i get fuji npz
(800) which costs about 4x the price of superia 800.
