Here's what I suggest on filters:
1) Buy a new one from a reputable seller with a return/satisfaction policy
2) Set up a shot with camera tripod-mounted and plan to use all precautions
against vibration etc.
3) Include as part of the subject a very bright, metallic reflection
4) Shoot with and without the filter
5) Evaluate under the conditions in which you evaluate your best work
6) If you can tell which was taken with the filter, return it to the seller
for a refund.
7) Use the filter as fits with your religious beliefs about such things, or
start over
