Welcome back Moon.
OK, let's get this straight - you bought a 90/2 for just over USD400. That
is a *good price*. A camera body, a T32, Cosina zoom and Zuiko 50/1.8 were
included in the box just to stop everything rattling around. And you expect
the packaging to take a picture??
;-)
OK, to be serious - congratulatrions on at least part of your purchase.
Moose has already mentioned the battery question. I would add that you
could usefully check that the baseplate screws are tight, that there is a
good ground connection between baseplate and chassis.
If nothing works, well it must be the 90/2 that is the problem. I'll give
you what you paid for it, can't say fairer than that ;-)

Subject: [OM] new OM2S locks up
Hi
I belonged to the old old list and just found you all again.
by the way how do you switch to digest mode?
I very cautiously bought a nice OM2S kit on that evilbay(#3837998139).
with a nice 90mm and bunch of other stuff.
anyway the camera locks up almost everytime.
I set the battery check, set to bulb, take the batteries out, white paper
over the film plane and nothing.
never works on slow speeds.
seems to work better on self timer and or program.
now I tap the base on the desk to get it to return.
on the lighter side the 90mm makes a nice hammer handle for this and it
extends way out for a better "tap"
depending on the amount of frustration.
I think this problem was discussed before (not the handle part).
is it an easy fix or a total.
thanks for any help.
