Considering the big jump in OM replacement part prices at Oly America
recently, finding one elsewhere in the world would probably be the best
bet even if they had one here.
Replacement elements are much less impressive looking than you might
think. What looks like so large and impressive a piece of glass in the
whole assembly is just a little piece of glass wrapped in plain white
paper with a little sticker with the part number on it sticking the
paper closed. Not impressive at all. The front element of a 100/2 is
likely about 52-53mm in diameter, smaller than the lens in many cheap
magnifying glasses. Of course it is much more expensive glass, polished
to tighted tolerances and is coated, but doesn't look like much.

Certainly sounds like it - if you can find the element. Can you try it
out as it is and take a few pics. It's amazing how bad a lens can look
and still take good pics. It is performs ok of such a low price, you
could use it as is while trolling for a replacement element.
It took me several months to find the no longer available from OA front
element for the 28/2, but a nice list member eventually had a spare.
