I think this is not generally true, and may be due to inconsistencies
between applications. When I convert 300D RAW files to TIFF in the Can*n
File Viewer, the file viewer still sees all the same camera info in the
TIFF file. However, PS does not see it in the same TIFF file. When I
convert Raw to PSD in PS, all the camera data is there in the PSD file
in PS. Looks like some difference in handling of EXIF data in the 2
apps. Both show EXIF data from the RAW files, but the fields shown by
the 2 apps differ slightly.
