Yes, it is my original OM2 that I've had since 1978. I've had to use it
several times when batteries died and the shutter would trip - I think it's
at 1/60th sec. Fortunately, these batteries last so long I've rarely had
to do that! I just thought the OM2n would allow me to use it manually as
well, but I guess not!

Are you sure that was OM2? OM2S does have a fall-back mechanical speed of
1/60 (as does OM4/4T), but I was not aware that any other 2-series did.
