Ken:
I tried handling an A1 at my local pro shop today, but it was a "satellite"
shop, and the person behind the counter couldn't answer a question I had
about the auto-focus system. Perhaps you could?
Simply put, when I depress the shutter of the A1 half-way, a floating red
rectangle appears in the EVF, and I *assume* that that's the point in the
image where the autofocus is focussing on. This point moves around the
image in what appears to be a random fashion.
Could you tell me if I'm correct, and if so, just precisely what the
autofocus is homing in on? I would've expected the AF to attempt to focus
on whatever you placed inside the central target...
