Well it does for me. I actually shoot a fair amount of Provia 400. In 
addition I have a set of lenses that are faster than most digital 
lenses. The majority of my zooms are constatnt f2.8s and most of my 
primes are f2. It is one of the things that makes digital not very 
practical for me.
