I can't speak to the small viewfinder, I haven't held an E-1 yet.
A longer focal length macro lens is an easy one to fix, and given Oly's past
history of great macro support, likely will be.
What makes you say there is no hope for image stabilization? Has Olympus made
a statement on that? I haven't heard anything preculding stabilized lenses in
the E system. I think it's possible, maybe even likely, that they will follow
Minolta's lead and put IS in a future body. Maybe the sensor moving around to
compensate for vibrations will help knock the dust off ;-)
