Today was the first game of spring soccer in Atlanta Georgia (USA). I have
spent part of the winter bidding for lenses on e**y. Having missed out on
some very nice fast zooms, I managed to purchase a Vivitar 4.5 75-260mm for
which I was the only bidder. It is a large lens with a tripod support.
Still, I thought that I could try hand holding it with a om winder on one of
my OM2n's. I shot PORTRA at f16 and 1000/sec - the results were great. The
zoom allowed me to catch head shots which came topart of the field I could
never have guessed the action would jump to. I now have other focusing
screens but the stock split screen was fine. The field was full size and
the lens produced results which easily allowed for enlargement.
I often discuss sport photos at work with someone shooting c*nn*n auto
focus. He is trying to produce a photo shop spread of his tennis playing
daughter in many different playing action shots. A local person is selling
like montages for $150. Looks like a good market to be in.
Any other OM soccer parents out there who are starting the season?
Cheers
