Thanks, Piers, you're too kind! Austin has a cadre of slightly
rebellious French speakers of all origins. You get a bunch of French,
Belgian, Italian, Colombian, American, Peruvian,
Spanish guys and gals and it anything but PC. Quite fun. The Latin
side kinda comes out and contaminates the best-behaved Anglos. BTW,
Austin has a great university, great music, lots of movie stuff, the
biggest bookstore in Texas, a large IT industry and visiting or
resident Cajuns (Acadiens). Their cooking is distinctly tropical in
inspiration but then again French cooking is all about local
traditions...
