The Vivitar macro-focusing 2x and the Vivitar MC 2X-21 teleconverters work
well. I have one of the 2X-21 units for sale for $20 plus shipping. I have a
Kiron 1.5X teleconverter which to seems to be a good one. The Olympus 1.4X
is bloody expensive but one sold the other day for $177. It was from
Singapore. Many of the teleconverters are of very poor quality. /jim

If you use TTL metering Gareth, you don't need to make any exposure
adjustment. If you use external metering, a 1.4x TC will steal 1 stop, and
a 2x will steal 2 stops. Once upon a time I had a 3x, but I don't recommend
you go there!
You might like to try a Tamron fixed OM-mount TC (rather than their usual
Adaptall which is no good for you unless you have Adaptall lenses), but they
may be as hard to find as Zuiko, especially the 1.4x (both Tamron and
Zuiko). But very considerably cheaper!

Subject: [OM] Tele-Converters.
Dear All,
I'm after a bit of advice. I would like to purchase a
tele-converter for my OM-1n. I know there are OM tele-converters at 1.4x and
2.0x and these would be my preferable choice but could anyone recommend any
other OM fit tele-converters from other manufacturers?
Also I know that using tele-converters alters the f-stops of the main lens
being used. Will the exposure meter account for this or will I have to do
this manually? Thanks in advance.
All the best,
Gareth.
