My situation is the opposite: I was using T-Max 400 (TMY), but once I tried
the Tri-X... I forgot TMY forever! Tri-X is great up to ISO 1600, and can
be pushed even more.
Also tried T-Max 100 (TMX), but I think it has very little detail on
shadows. With its specific T-Max developer, it seems to improve a bit, but
I still prefer Delta 100 soaked on Ilfotec DD-X -- I don't like the tonal
scale of FP4, either.
BTW, Ilfotec DD-X is a *superb* developer -- well worth its cost. And it
does a stunning job with Tri-X, rendering finer grain than usual. See, for
